The Harbour is the only Harbour on the North Devon Coast with direct access to the sea. It is the closest Harbour to the Crown Estate Tidal Energy Demonstration Zone in the Bristol Channel and was also the Port used to commission and decommission the MCT Seagen trial off of Lynmouth. The majority of the Harbour dries at low spring tides excepting the outer berth which retains approximately 1.5m of tide. The seabed is sandy and often accommodates drying out vessels. As a primarily Leisure/Fishing Port quayside space is at a premium. All quays are currently in use by various vessels at various times therefore it is difficult to quantify available length of quay. The main commercial quay side is a public car park which could be changed to quayside storage if industry were to apply for it.
