NEL operate the National Wind Energy Centre at Myres Hill near Glasgow. This 7 hectare test site has been established since 1985 and is a dedicated Renewable Energy test facility. Our test site is perfectly located in the west of Scotland to capture the Atlantic weather systems, offering high average wind speeds and complex terrain. With grid connections which can accommodate significant generated power levels and 18 test pads for every shape and size of small wind turbine, we have plenty of capacity to support formal MCS test programs or manufacturer's research & development needs. The test site also offers a great location for developers of energy storage systems to trial their products under real conditions.
